Breathing Works Project - Yoga breathing and meditation for stress and anxiety relief

We are very excited to launch a new project this year. As yoga instructors we meet people all the time who are trying desperately to overcome the very real, physical and emotional effects of stress and anxiety. As small business owners dealing with the daily demands of running your own business we have personally dealt with stress that at times feels like it's taken over your life. 

Nearly 70% of Americans suffer from effects of stress, anxiety and depression over their lifetime. These effects can manifest in very real, physical symptoms including; headaches, sleep disturbance, fatigue, exhaustion, difficulty concentrating, short temper, upset stomach, aching muscles, loss of appetite and more. 70 million people in the US are on some type of anti anxiety medication and there are upwards of 50 million people taking some form of sleep aid.

Clinical studies and scientific research conducted by reputable, medical institutions have shown that various types of breathing exercises have an immediate, profound, positive effect on anxiety and sleep disorders. These breathing exercises directly effect the autonomic nervous system more specifically the parasympathetic nerves. The parasympathetic nervous system relaxes the body.

We would like to reach out to businesses and organizations within our community and teach you how to effectively utilize these techniques. Once you learn some of these simple breathing exercises you will be able to utilize them anytime, anywhere and feel positive relief within minutes.

We have developed a ninety minute workshop that consists of approximately 15 minutes of discussion explaining how and why these techniques work, 60 minutes of breathing instruction and practice and 15 minutes of guided meditation.
